Class summary for Mar 10, 2026 - BG Chapter 7 - Slokas 27-30

Summarized by Sudha.R:

  • Opening Prayers, Breathing Exercise & Meditation

  • Recap of previous class

We listened to Gurudev’s videos for Chapter 7 - Verse 26, Part 1:

In video 1, Gurudev communicates about the consciousness being Omniscient.  He draws a comparison between the sun and the consciousness in each one of us.  Just like how the sun illumines everything during the day, the consciousness in me and you illumines our body, mnd and intellect.  Just like how the sun is the Seer of everything, our consciousness is the knower and seer of everything. The consciousness in me is the consciousness in you.  Just like how the sun illumines everything that has happened in the past, everything that is happening right now, and everything that will happen in the future, God knows the past, present, and the future.  Gurudev says, the only sad part for God is that no one knows about Him!

Chapter 7 - Verse 26, Part 2:

The perceiver, feeler, and thinker can only perceive objects, feel emotions, and think thoughts that are in front of them, through their BMI.  For us to seek the Higher,  we have to remove the mirror and its reflections and go behind them. He draws an analogy to a poor bird looking at its own reflection in a mirror.  Just like how the poor bird is happy seeing its reflection in the mirror and is sad when he cannot find anything behind the mirror, we think we are happy with what we see in front of us and what we get through our BMI.

We chanted the last set of verses in Chapter 7 - 27, 28, 29, and 30.

By the delusion of the pairs of opposites, all beings are not subject to spiritual growth and go into a state of total delusion.  We can progress mentally and spiritually only when we can accept the opposites and surrender to Him.   In Kaliyuga, the easiest thing to do is to chant ‘Rama’ always.  It is also necessary to reduce our vasanas by a combination of all three yogas - Karma, Bhakthi & Gnana yogas.

Subjective Analysis: Learn to go beyond the waker, sleeper, and dreamer states and operate in the fourth state like a person going back to the dream as a waker!
